So revered in our house hold that I give it as a gift at Christmas and Birthdays.
It's quite expensive to make: golden short crust pastry, textured secret almond filling, apricot sweet preserve and toasted crunchy walnuts ...

IT IS TRULY AMAZING!
As a child I always helped make a gooseberry hazelnut style of Nutty Tart with my mum.
But I invented the best version when I was about 10 years old.
In fact variations of this rather camp yet aptly titled dish has been passed down in my family for over a century.
